Going the Distance: Ultra Long Range Jets Mean Business

Luxury Private Jets for Sale Make Corporate Travel a Breeze

Ultra long range jets are the largest, fastest business jets, capable of carrying the most passengers for the greatest distance, with the most comfort. Buying a preowned business jet like these makes corporate travel more efficient, enjoyable, and safer for your business’s executives, while providing the creature comforts they’d expect from a nice hotel room or business center.

Consider one of these large private jets to meet your business’s needs.

What Sets Large Private Jets Apart
Most ultra long range jets can accommodate between 14 and 18 passengers. The size of these planes are their best selling point because it makes them quite versatile. There’s enough capacity to fly entire departments of employees to important meetings.

Larger jets tend to have more premium interiors, complete with large galleys suited for preparing gourmet meals, private lavatories - sometimes multiple - and infotainment technology for passing time after work hours.

Because of their larger size, they’re equipped with the largest, strongest engines that produce a lot of power and travel at a fast pace - around 500 knots per hour! They can also ascend higher than smaller jets, with service ceilings of 50,000 or more feet. This allows the jet to avoid air traffic and prevent uncomfortable turbulence.

Large gas tanks and aforementioned engines allow these private jets to travel much farther than their smaller brethren, allowing for non-stop international travel.

Aboard the plane for sale, passengers enjoy a panoramic view from 14 large windows, a well-equipped galley, private stateroom, entertainment area, and conference area. The full-height cabin is comfortable for a productive travel experience.

Gulfstream achieved the glass cockpit with the G550. It includes four 14-inch displays mounted horizontally across the instrument panel and a modular avionics system that replaces dials and gauges with graphic interfaces.

Depending on the model you purchase, you could expect to pay between $18 and $31 million for it. If you fly at least 400 hours per year, plan an operations budget of about $2.4 million annually.

Gulfstream G650 and Gulfstream G650ER
The Gulfstream G650 took to the skies in 2012, with the Gulfstream G650ER following suit in 2018, an updated model designed with an even longer range and an additional 4,000 pounds of fuel capacity. These ultra long range jets have earned more than 110 world speed records and the coveted Collier Trophy. Equipped with two Rolls-Royce engines, these jets can complete flights from Hong Kong to Teterboro, New York to Beijing, and Buenos Aires to Los Angeles with up to 19 passengers in the full-height cabin. Expect to travel at Mach .925, nearly the speed of sound.

Both the G650 and G650ER come in various layouts with lots of amenities to choose from. Commonly, you’ll find things like a galley with a water-sterilization system, natural lighting in the lavatory, 100-percent fresh air circulation in the cabin, large windows at every seat, foot rests, and in-cabin tech controlled with a simple smartphone app.

In the cockpit, pilots will find a flight deck with EFVS, synthetic vision flight display, and a camera installed under the nose of the jet. Generously-sized windows give pilots a great view of the plane’s wing tips, too.

A pre-owned Bombardier Global 6000 aircraft for sale cost between $23 and $44 million. An annual budget of about $2.5 million is necessary to fly at least 450 hours per year, including both variable and fixed costs.
